Excited Hampton Prep pupils walked through the doors of their brand new school building this week.

The 140 children enjoyed a morning of exploring the superb new facilities with their teachers. Alongside eight classrooms, there are two IT suites, a dedicated art room, library, two music rooms, and an attractive performance hall. Externally, the school has on-site playing fields, a multi-use all-weather sports pitch and a garden with raised beds and potting shed.

Eco-friendly features include a ‘green roof’ covered with alpine plants and a ground source heat pump, which will use the earth’s energy to help heat the building in the winter and keep it cool during the summer months.

The state-of-the-art building has taken 11 months to complete and was delivered by site manager, David Waters, and his team from Life Build Solutions.

The opening of the new prep department has coincided with a change of name for the school, from Denmead to Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep School. The change of name is seen a natural progression as the Pre-Prep & Prep School is already part of The Hampton School Trust and has close links with the nearby senior school.

Headmaster, Mr Tim Smith, says all are delighted with the new building:

“We are very proud of our wonderful new school. These are exceptional facilities which will offer our pupils the very best purpose-built learning environment.”

Prospective parents are warmly invited to visit Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep School where they will be given a tour of the new prep building. Further information about upcoming Open Mornings can be found on the School website www.hamptonprep.org.uk .
