Hampton’s Third Years are taking part in the ROAR Challenge, which aims to develop business skills for young people whilst instilling values of social awareness and global citizenship. The challenge encourages students to set up their own social enterprise initiative with proceeds going towards rural education in India.
To help them determine what charitable activity to take part in, 22 Hampton Third Year boys travelled to Morley College in Central London to hear three social entrepreneurs explain their business stories and pitch their own social enterprise ideas to corporate volunteer mentors.
The Hamptonians hope to raise money for a group of students in Western Bengal who they met earlier in the term via a Skype session. The boys from both continents discussed aspirations, hobbies and lifestyles with the help of a translator.
