A preview of this week’s Natwest Cup matches

Both the Hampton 1st XV and the U15As are bidding to reach the quarter-finals of their NatWest Cup Competitions this week.

Following their victory over Trinity School, Croydon in Round 5, our senior boys face Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, in Kent on Wednesday, and the U15s travel to face long-term rivals Dulwich on Thursday.

The 1st XV’s opponents are hard to gauge as this is their first appearance at this stage of the U18 NatWest Schools Cup competition but the U15s face one of most successful schools in the competition in recent years.

Hampton’s Director of Rugby, Mr Sean Thomson, says both games will be challenging:

“The 1st XV are playing a bit of an unknown quantity in Simon Langton. However, we are not underestimating this team which beat The John Fisher School in the last round and I am sure it will be a tough game.

The U15s know exactly what Dulwich have to offer, having played them already this season. They are a strong team but the Hampton U15s have had a great season so far and can beat anyone on their day. Overall we should be in for two excellent games”
