Pupils across all year groups bring the Hammond Theatre to life
Months of rehearsals came to fruition as Hampton’s rockers treated a packed auditorium to renditions of songs by Oasis, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and more.
Those present were treated to a range of acts from boy’s from the First Year right through to Upper Sixth. This year there were record numbers of boys interested and the most participants ever.
The evening began with a DJ Set by Dylan Little and the audience were buzzing for the whole night with performances from the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Rock Groups, and groups formed by the students themselves, including Sausage Rock ‘n’ Rolls and Lily and the Caves to name a few.
Last year’s Open Mic UK finalists Joe Jenkins and Oscar Cloud were presenters for the night and brought charisma and humour to the evening.
Mr Daniel Roland of the Music Department thought the concert was a great success:
‘A fantastic concert full of young talent! It was great to see the boys’ hard work paying off and such a positive response from the audience. Such an evening would not have been possible without the hard work put in by our Rock Band leaders Sean Willmott and Alex Pym.’
