Hampton teamed up with six other schools to show the fun side of science.
The School welcomed pupils from Hampton Academy, The Lady Eleanor Holles School, Orleans Park, Teddington, Tolworth Girls, Hollyfield and Reach Academy to participate in the Hampton Partnership Science Day.
Science Day is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about Biology, Chemistry and Physics in a more relaxed and interactive environment.
Boys and girls took part in a biology lesson investigating the nervous system, a chemistry lesson where they examined energy changes in chemical reactions, and a physics lesson looking at upthrust in hot air ballooning. Practicals involved testing each others’ reaction times, burning jelly babies and designing and building hot air balloons to test
The budding professors found the day stimulating and enjoyable, whilst the event’s organiser, Mr David Clarke, congratulated the pupils for their enthusiasm, which he attributed to the success of the day.
