Old Hamptonian performs and is interviewed on In Tune

Recent leaver Harry Baker performed on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune as part of a piano quartet.

Pianist Harry was offered the opportunity to perform in one of two groups on the BBC program after completing the Procorda chamber music course towards the end of the summer. Harry and the group performed the 3rd movement of Brahm’s Piano Quartet in C minor. Afterwards Harry, along with the group’s cellist, was interviewed by the host of the show Verity Sharp.

Harry played his full part in Performing Arts during his time at the School as a member of Hampton’s male voice choir Voices of Lions, performing in various musical productions such as Jekyll and Hyde and earning a Diploma of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He is soon to begin his first year in a degree in Music at Oxford University.

Harry relished the opportunity to play and speak about his Music for a wide audience:

“it was a hugely enjoyable yet surreal experience, especially whilst I was being interviewed, knowing that lots of people I didn’t know would be listening in to

my conversation.”
