THURSDAY 4 March, 7PM

Join us for a special Thursday Night In at 7pm on Thursday 4 March to cook along with Hampton School Head Chef Paul ably assisted by some of your teachers! Chef Paul will be demonstrating how to make and cook two types of burger – the classic beef burger and halloumi with grilled veg!

Get your ingredients in so that you can cook along and enjoy the results.

BEEF BURGER

(Makes 4)

  • 500g minced beef
  • ½ red onion, finely chopped
  • A squeeze of ketchup
  • Teaspoon of English mustard
  • ½ bunch of chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 egg

HALLOUMI BURGER

(Makes 4)

  • 250g halloumi cheese
  • ½ bunch of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 courgette
  • ½ red onion
  • Jar of green pesto (190g is a common size)
  • Salt and pepper

The Rest…

  • 8 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • 4 tomatoes
  • Baby gem lettuce
  • Jar of dill pickles/gherkins
  • Bag of spinach
  • 8 optional skewers
  • Bag of salted crisps – optional

You will need:

  • 2 frying pans
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • 2 chopping boards / or clean after first use
  • Knife
  • 2 spatulas/tongs
  • Spoons
  • Oven glove/tea towel
  • Apron
  • Plates for presentation

We will be helping you prepare the perfect burger, along with all the toppings!
