Sixth Formers take full advantage of the trips programme, which is one of the highlights of a Hampton education.

Academic Trips

The Languages Department run a range of visits to help linguists hone their speaking skills and immerse themselves in different cultures. There are Sixth Form study or work experience trips to Nice, Madrid or Barcelona, and Hamburg. Teachers also accompany pupils to theatre trips in London to see plays in the target language.

Sixth Form Physicists can visit the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN), one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Politics students have the opportunity to travel to the heart of politics in the USA, Washington DC and Historians are invited on a European Cities Tour.

Sports Trips

Hampton sportsmen compete nationally and internationally. Senior cricketers enjoy a pre-season tour to destinations including India and Barbados. Rowers train at Soustons in France and Seville in Spain.  There are also national and international training camps for our tennis and football players.

The Adventure Society

One of the most popular societies at Hampton, AdSoc runs the annual summer expedition to Borneo or Malawi offering senior Hamptonians and girls from LEH the opportunity to work with local communities, support environmental charities and enjoy discovering the wonders of each country by safari, hiking and boat

Trip options for Sixth Formers

Hampton offers a number of annual travel awards from a fund set up in memory of Mr E.R. Badman, a former Deputy Headmaster of the School and a legacy from Mr A.T. Shepherd, an old boy and former Chairman of Governors. The awards are intended to enable Hamptonians to travel to broaden their horizons, for educational purposes, and in pursuit of adventure.
