Hamptonians raised much-needed funds to help peacekeepers in the Central African Republic

The Hampton community received a special thank you from the Central African Republic this week. After an appeal from pupil-led campaign group Genocide80Twenty, money was raised to help the genocide prevention charity the Aegis Trust. The funds were sent directly to field workers in the African country that has recently seen an upsurge in vicious violence. Hamptonians’ contributions made it possible for a team from Aegis to venture out of the capital Bangui in order to calm tensions and prevent atrocities against civilians from taking place.

Alain, one of Aegis’ staff in the CAR, sent a heartfelt message talking about the situation in the country and thanking the Hampton community for its help.
