Over 200 pupils, staff and parents packed The Hammond Theatre to hear BBC news correspondent Nick Bryant’s Talk!

One of the BBC’s most seasoned foreign correspondents, Nick has covered many of the key events in global politics such as the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the presidency of Bill Clinton.

Currently BBC New York and United Nations Correspondent, Nick covered a range of issues from the impact of Ronald Reagan’s presidency to how Donald Trump defied all expectations when he was elected in 2016.

With insightful questions from Hampton pupils, Nick discussed the US 2020 presidential election and the impact of social media on politics and journalism. He told his audience that he always knew he wanted to be a reporter and still loves what he does today:

My job has given me a front row seat at the making of history itself. That’s why I became a journalist.
