Hamptonians from Fourth Year and above had the opportunity to enter the 2021 Careers Competition, as part of this year’s virtual Careers Week. Careers Week provides a valuable, engaging and informative opportunity for Hamptonians to develop their understanding of different roles, industries and training opportunities within the world of work.
Entries were judged on the insight shown into their chosen career and ranged from informative posters to engaging journals.
Well done to everyone who entered this year’s competition and particular congratulations go to the winners and runners up:
- Winner – Navik Mendis (Criminal Law)
- Second place – Victor Smirnov (Medicine)
- Third place – Adam Jeffrey (Coding and Technology)
- Highly commended – Jai Saha (Marketing)

The Careers department was delighted with the standard of entries in the 2021 Careers Competition, with the pupils who were chosen as the winner and runners up blending excellent understanding of their career of interest with strong demonstration of relevant personal skills. Navik’s entry particularly stood out, as he used video to demonstrate that he has the eloquence and confidence to make an excellent criminal barrister.
Navik’s winning entry was an insightful YouTube video which studied the career of a Criminal Barrister. Navik wins an InvestIN course which offers pupils the valuable work experience in their chosen career before they start university.
