Hampton’s Class of 2026 and their families are celebrating exceptional A Level results, with 39% of grades awarded at A* and 77% at A* or A.
A remarkably impressive 96% of grades were A* A or B, with well over half of the year group securing straight A* and A grades.
These excellent outcomes have confirmed Hamptonians’ places on a wide range of prestigious degree courses at top UK and overseas universities.
Among those celebrating at School in glorious Cloisters sunshine were members of our acclaimed and ever-popular Voices of Lions choir, fresh from their series of sold-out concerts at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Academic and Music scholar Oli achieved four A* grades and will read Natural Sciences at Cambridge, where he will be joined on the same course by fellow musician Ralph. Musical theatre star Nathaniel, who held audiences spellbound as Jean Valjean in this year’s joint Hampton-LEH Senior Musical, Les Misérables, achieved three A* grades and an A to take up his place reading Music at Durham.
Hampton’s sportsmen proved equally adept at balancing academic and all-round excellence. Following an historic season that saw our First and Second XI teams reach English Schools’ FA (ESFA) finals and the former win the prestigious HUDL League, Hampton’s senior footballers now head off to a range of top universities, including Joshi, who will read PPE at Oxford. Also Oxford-bound is Henry, one of our Upper Sixth rowers who enjoyed an excellent season on the water – four A* grades earned him a place to read Chemistry at Oriel College.
Twins Gabriel and Noah, who have excelled at debating in French and English during their time at the School, will both be joining global top-10 universities in London; Gabriel will read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at LSE, while Noah will combine studying Law and French at UCL.
The Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, offered his personal congratulations:
“Our Class of 2026 can feel a tremendous sense of fulfilment about their A Level results, which have secured thoroughly deserved places at leading universities in the UK and overseas. Their impressive achievements reflect not only their academic prowess, but are also just reward for the enthusiasm, energy and endeavour they have brought to all aspects of Hampton life.
It has been wonderfully uplifting this morning to see Hamptonians celebrating one another’s successes with their distinctive fellowship, good humour and togetherness. I should also like to thank their families for their support and pay fulsome tribute to my colleagues, whose care, expertise and unstinting dedication have done so much to help our Upper Sixth thrive and flourish here.
We wish our 2026 Leavers every future happiness, and there’s no doubt that they’ll make a difference for good in their new settings just as they have within our School community. Go well, boys, and always remember: ‘once a Hamptonian, always a Hamptonian’!”
