This year’s Scholars’ Concert provided a superb opening to the new musical year, as Hampton’s young musicians filled the Hammond Theatre with performances brimming with talent, poise and confidence.

The eclectic programme ranged from the rich Romantic sounds of Schumann, Mendelssohn and Rachmaninov to the elegance of Purcell and Handel, and even ventured into the cinematic sound world of film composer John Williams. Musicians from First Year to Upper Sixth performed on an impressive range of instruments: alongside strings, the piano and voice, the audience were treated to more unusual instruments including the harp, organ and sitar.

The Scholars’ Concert provided an inspiring start to the School’s musical year, and the 2025 concert once again confirmed the depth of talent and dedication within the School’s community. The evening offered a glimpse of the many exciting musical performances to come over the year ahead.
