In a spectacular celebration of musical talent, 53 Hamptonians from First Year to Upper Sixth took to the stage in 17 different bands for the eagerly anticipated Battle of the Bands Rock Concert.

From timeless classics to modern metal, the evening was a vibrant showcase of the School’s musical creativity. The setlist spanned an eclectic mix of genres, featuring everything from The Beatles to Slipknot.

The concert opened with an energetic rendition of Footloose by Square One, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Among the many standout performances, the Senior Rock Band delivered a fierce and imaginative reworking of Britney Spears’ Toxic, while Alex B and Bailey H-C captivated the audience with two beautifully performed solo pieces on guitar and vocals. Lucas, drummer for The Sopranos, brought the house down during Welcome to Paradise, getting the entire audience on their feet.

The evening concluded with a crowd vote, crowning the band HOODs as the overall winners for their original and expertly executed arrangement of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. Their prize included music vouchers and the opportunity to perform in the Cloisters ahead of this year’s Summer Concert.

Battle of the Bands was held in support of the 2025 Giving Day, raising an impressive £1,200 for the Fitzwygram Foundation, which supports means-tested Free Places at Hampton School. A huge thank you to all the performers, staff, and audience members who made the evening such a success!
