Hampton School welcomed young mathematicians from 21 local primary schools to battle it out for the title of Maths Wizard Champion 2024.

Teams of Year Five pupils put their mathematical knowledge to the test, tackling a range of tricky numerical puzzles in a bid to win the coveted trophy. The mathematicians took part in five rounds of problems ranging from the Always, Sometimes, Never round to Target. In the Symbols round, numbers were disguised as symbols and pupils were challenged to work out which symbols represented a particular digit. The competition culminated in a final round Group Challenge, in which the pupils had to work together to solve some fiendishly difficult maths problems.

Congratulations to all those who took part and demonstrated brilliant number crunching skills and team work. The runners up were Latchmere School (third) and St Luke’s Primary School (second), and in first place, the winners of the Maths Wizard Trophy 2024, were Holy Trinity Primary School. Well done to all our Maths Wizards on some fantastic number crunching!
