A packed Hammond Theatre audience was treated to a compelling insight into UK and international affairs from Fraser Nelson, leading columnist at The Times and former editor of The Spectator.

Observing that we are in a period where history is being remade week by week, Mr Nelson drew on some of The Times’ most iconic recent editorial cartoons to shed light on many of the crises currently reshaping global and domestic power. From the deepening conflict in the Middle East and its shockwaves through global markets, to President Trump’s unpredictable approach to international diplomacy, Fraser Nelson warned that long-standing geopolitical norms are being fundamentally challenged.

He also offered his analysis of the seismic shifts underway closer to home – with Reform and the Greens surging in the polls and Sir Keir Starmer recording the lowest approval ratings of any Prime Minister in recent history.
