During the Easter holidays, a group of 30 Second and Third Year Hamptonians enjoyed an action‑packed five‑day adventure trip to Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Set against one of the UK’s most dramatic natural landscapes, the trip gave pupils the chance to challenge themselves, build confidence and teamwork, and enjoy a memorable outdoor experience.

Over the course of the trip, pupils took part in a wide range of activities designed to develop outdoor skills and resilience. An afternoon of orienteering tested pupils’ navigation and problem‑solving abilities, while a full day of hiking in the local hills allowed Hamptonians to take in the scale and beauty of the Snowdonia landscape. Supported by experienced instructors, pupils approached each challenge with plenty of enthusiasm and determination.

Water‑based activities proved especially popular, with pupils enjoying a session of kayaking, alongside an exhilarating mountain bike ride through the surrounding countryside. This ride featured the much‑anticipated (and affectionately named) “Ice Cream Challenge”, which provided plenty of motivation and a well‑earned reward at the end.

One of the most memorable experiences of the trip was an underground adventure, during which pupils journeyed through a mountain via a series of exciting and carefully designed challenges. Led by fully qualified instructors, the activity focused on teamwork and exploration, allowing pupils to push themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Whether tackling a steep climb, navigating a tricky route or encouraging teammates during unfamiliar activities, pupils rose to every challenge. The shared experiences helped to strengthen friendships and gave Hamptonians a real sense of achievement. The Snowdonia trip was a hugely successful experience, combining adventure, challenge and plenty of fun in an outstanding natural setting.
