First Year Hamptonians enjoyed a relaxed and friendly lunchtime gathering this week as they met with the Upper Sixth mentors assigned to each form group, continuing to build strong connections as they move through their second term at Hampton.
The mentoring programme, now well embedded into the year, pairs each First Year form with two senior pupils who serve as approachable role models and sources of advice. This week’s informal lunch offered a welcome opportunity for pupils and mentors to catch up outside the classroom, strengthening the supportive relationships that have already begun to form since the start of the academic year.
The Dining Hall buzzed with conversation as mentors and their form groups chatted about school life, co-curricular opportunities, and how the First Years are settling into their routines. Pupils welcomed the chance to ask questions and hear tips from those who have navigated Hampton life before them.
Upper Sixth mentors, who volunteer their time for the programme, continue to play an important pastoral role throughout the year — offering guidance, helping pupils build confidence, and contributing to the positive community atmosphere that Hampton prides itself on.
