The Hammond Theatre was transformed into an elegant dining venue for the annual St Cecilia’s Dinner and Concert, a highlight of the Hampton School calendar. Named in honour of the patron saint of music, this much-anticipated occasion combines fine dining with outstanding musical performances from Senior Hamptonians.
The evening began with a champagne reception before guests were treated to a programme showcasing the exceptional talent within our Music Department. From Richard Rodgers to Saint-Saëns and Mozart to Bob Dylan, the repertoire featured a series of accomplished musical performances. During the three-course dinner, the Hampton School Jazz Ensemble—Albert, Oliver, Harry and Oliver—provided a stylish musical interlude, along with talented guitarist Daniel.
The concert concluded with a series of remarkable performances, including Upper Sixth violinist Leo and pianist Rajvir playing Rachmaninov and Bullard with aplomb. Fellow Sixth Former Nathaniel delivered an outstanding vocal rendition of Donizetti’s Bella Siccome Un Angelo, bringing the evening to a memorable close.
This special event is an important fundraiser for the Hampton School Music Society, supporting initiatives such as the Rare Beasts scheme and the purchase of new instruments. The success of the evening was a testament to the extraordinary musicianship at Hampton and the vibrant culture of music that thrives within our School.
