A group of 30 Second and Third Year Hamptonians headed to Snowdonia in Wales for an action-packed adventure activities trip.

The trip kicked off with an orienteering session at Llyn Elsi, a picturesque lake located above the village of Betws-y-coed in the Snowdonia National Park. Hamptonians had the opportunity to test their nerve underground by journeying through a mountain via a series of exciting adventurous challenges. Starting from Conwy Falls, pupils were kitted up with a harness, helmet and boots before heading off to the mine for their subterranean adventure. On their underground journey, Lower School pupils encountered forgotten deep blue lakes, lofty caverns and ancient mining machinery lying abandoned in the darkness. The adventure involved Hamptonians zip-lining across crevices, climbing rock faces and waterfalls, abseiling off ledges and even using a boat to cross a subterranean lake!

The young adventurers enjoyed a scenic hike around the beautiful national park and also tried their hand at rock climbing. A highlight of the trip was the infamous Ice Cream Challenge, where Hamptonians were tasked to complete a 1km mountain bike ride up a hill with a very steep incline. A big well done to the five finishers who were rewarded with a double scoop of their favourite ice cream!
