Hampton footballers have enjoyed a superb week across the year groups in both the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) and English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) competitions.

In the U13A ISFA Cup, an on-song Hampton side were quick out of the blocks racing to an early lead and clinching a 4-0 victory against Berkhamsted School. The Second Year Hamptonians now move forward to the semi-finals of the national competition. The U13B footballers contested a tight game against Glenmore & Winton Academies, with the team winning on penalties to progress to round 6 of their ESFA tournament.

There was also a double victory for our Fourth Year footballers with wins for both the U15A and B teams. The U15Bs now move into round 5 in their ESFA competition, while the U15A team, who are already through to their ISFA semi-final, reached the last 16 in their ESFA match with a comprehensive 5-0 victory versus The Mountbatten School.

The First XI secured another fantastic victory in their ISFA U18 Boodles Cup quarter final in a tight match against Harrow School in front of a vocal home crowd. The score remained 2-2 after extra time forcing the match to be decided by penalties. This was to be Hampton’s day with goalkeeper Sam performing superbly in goal. They now progress to the ISFA semi-finals, with a quarter-final match in the prestigious ESFA competition to also look forward to.

Away at Millfield School, Hampton’s Second XI team were keen to avenge last year’s semi-final ESFA cup defeat against the eventual competition winners. In a tight match, the scoreline remained goalless until the final ten minutes of the game, when a flurry of goals saw the Sixth Form footballers claim a superb 3-1 win to progress to the ESFA quarter-final for the second successive year.

Director of Football, Mr David Burke, praised Hampton’s footballer on their superb 2024-25 season:

Footballers across the year groups have shown superb resilience and application of their game plan but most importantly have demonstrated outstanding conviction to play for the School and for their team mates. Congratulations on some fantastic results.

A remarkable nine teams remain in the final stages of this year’s 2025 ISFA and ISFA tournaments. It’s going to be an exciting few weeks of football ahead!
