The School fields welcomed 56 teams from 12 local schools for the annual Hampton running meet, the newly named David Clark Paarlauf.
Competing in teams of three, the young athletes, racing in different age categories, had to see how much distance they could cover collectively in 24-minutes. This year’s winning distance was an outstanding 8.2km. Hampton’s athletes ran extremely well in all three age groups against strong opposition from the visiting schools.
The organiser of the event, Mr Vince Ting, congratulated the young runners on some superb performances and great sporting attitude on display throughout the day.
We had fantastic conditions for running our ever-popular paarlauf running race, which had thrills, spills and great finishing distances. Over the course of exactly 24 minutes, the athletes ran as fast as they possibly could. With some schools arriving with multiple teams for each age group, Hamptonians performed valiantly, with our seniors finishing second and our intermediates in third. Well done to all!
