Congratulations to Hampton’s Captain of Boats, Harry, who has enjoyed a stellar season on the water.
Upper Sixth Former Harry clocked up three international Gold Medals for Great Britain in 2024. The first two came after racing in an U19 Pair and Men’s Eight at the Munich Regatta. But the best was yet to come – and Harry was thrilled to receive the call up to compete at the World Rowing Championships in Canada as part of the Junior Men’s Eight.
GB were hot favourites to win the final, which saw them line up against hosts Canada, USA, Germany and New Zealand, and secure open water by the 500-metre mark. By then, there was no stopping them and the GB boat crossed the finish line in style to ecstatic applause from family and friends. Harry is hoping to continue his run of success rowing for Hampton in the year ahead.
