Hampton’s U16A footballers have won the inaugural Independent Schools trophy tournament held at Arsenal Academy.
Six of the top footballing schools from across the London area competed in the tournament played at the training grounds of Arsenal Football Club Youth Academy. The Fifth Year footballers won four matches, beating Dulwich College in their final game to finish top of the group.
Director of Sport and Coach of the U16A team, Mr Carlos Mills, praised the young footballers for their performance at the tournament:
The team played extremely well against very accomplished and talented teams. The Hamptonians worked hard, playing with discipline, creativity and had to be resolute throughout the tournament. Thank you to Arsenal Academy for hosting the new event.
