Congratulations to budding economist Will Colvine who has been offered a summer internship by the Bank of England after being named as one of the winners of the Bank’s ‘2023 Innovation Competition’.
Open to sixth form and university students, the competition asked entrants to answer the question: how can artificial intelligence (AI) shape the mission of the Bank of England?
Lower Sixth Former, Will, submitted a video outlining his ideas on how the Bank could employ AI to improve financial modelling, and how it could also be used to enhance communications with the general public.
Will’s proposals clearly impressed the judges who were inundated with entries for this year’s competition. The Sixth Former’s prize is a paid internship with the Bank’s data and technology team during summer 2023. This prestigious placement will help the Hamptonian enhance his technology and data knowledge while gaining invaluable work experience in a field that he hopes to pursue after university.
