Welcome to the First Year Blog!

As the final week of term draws to a close, the boys have had an opportunity to reflect on a fantastic, and unusual year. On Monday, the boys discussed their achievements over the year, and it was lovely to hear what they had enjoyed this year (Avon Tyrrell and the 3G featured highly!). On Thursday, the whole First Year also celebrated their collective and individual achievements on Thursday during Assembly, which included some fantastic dramatic and musical performances from the boys!

We have been so impressed by the positive attitude of all of the First Year boys. In a challenging year, they have dealt with all the changes they have experienced with enthusiasm and humour, and it has been so heartening to see them throw themselves into lessons and co-curricular activities. I will leave the last word with Lucas S-T (1P), one of our First Year budding journalists:

It is finally here! The end of school!!! After the hard summer exams and all the lessons, the Hamptonians have deserved this break for very long now. This also means that we are going to be getting older so the Fifth Year are now in Sixth Form, First Years are no longer the little ones and the Lower Sixth are now the Upper Sixth! We will soon be having the new students coming in too! Second Years will get new boys in their classes for Third Year! It will be a very long break and lots of us will be going on holidays, so enjoy it lots. Also, thank you teachers for teaching us! We hope you enjoyed your time in school!

TEAM BUILDING AND ROWING

On their final day, while some of the First Years took part in the final round HPL Cricket Cup, others had a morning of team building activities and an interform indoor rowing competition. A lot of fun was had, and the boys really enjoyed working together on their final morning! Have a look at what they got up to:
