Welcome to the First Year Blog!

A busy week this week, it’s hard to believe we only have three weeks left of this half term! This week the First Years have been thinking about their Role Models, who inspires them and why. After a chilly week many of the boys are looking forward to the Summer Term and spending Friday afternoons playing cricket. Cricket season is well under way with training and nets starting with a bang at lunchtimes and after School.

SCIENCE FAIR

It’s time for the annual Lower School Science Fair! We would like to encourage all First Years to get their thinking caps on and come up with a project, either on your own or with a group of friends. The entry deadline is on Friday 7 February.

Entry forms can be collected from Mr Cook in the Physics office. Competitors will present their experiment and/or findings at the Science Fair during lunch time on Tuesday 17 March. Use this as an opportunity to investigate something you have always wanted to know the answer to! Any questions, I am sure your science teachers will be happy to help!

SPORTS

This Monday our U12A Football team went up against Shenfield High School, it was a tough match and Shenfield put in a great performance. Hampton walked away with 2 goals to Shenfield’s 5.

Also on Monday, our U13B Table Tennis team played against Southborough School. There were some great performances in the doubles but sadly we lost overall.

Basketball success on Tuesday when our U12 team played at the Surrey Festival winning both of their games!

Good luck to our U12B and C Football Teams playing Abingdon School this weekend and to our U12A, B and C Rugby Teams playing against Campion School.
