AVON TYRRELL: HIGH ROPES, TEAM BUILDING AND NIGHT WALKS!

Wow! What an incredibly busy week for our First Years as they enjoyed their first residential trip away from home with Hampton, throwing themselves into all the activities Avon Tyrrell had to offer. We are sure your son has come home full of stories of their trip but we wanted to offer you some highlights of what they got up to, in their own words, down in the New Forest.

reporting live from our first years

Avon Tyrrell is such a fun place to go to. There are plenty of fun activities there for everyone, which are based on teamwork. The highlight was raft building, where there was an auction for different types of rafts (you and your team had to build it yourselves).

I think Avon Tyrrell was really good, I liked the low ropes because we got to work as a team and I really enjoyed that. Also, the lunch and dinner were really good!

TUTEE OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to Ram who has been awarded the First Year Tutee of the week for his positive, considerate attitude that he consistently displayed during the Avon Tyrrell trip, helping other boys with one of the biggest challenges, putting the duvet cover on their duvet!

SPORTS

U12A footballer Dexter reports on their match against Glyn School:

Hampton School’s U12A team versus Glyn School was an exciting fixture. During the first half, Glyn were on the front foot playing slightly better than our A team. At half time, after an equaliser from Michael the score was 1-1. To add to the first half, our goalkeeper Eddie made a few fantastic saves. In the second half, Hampton played considerably better. After a lucky shot, Glyn went ahead. Coming close to full time, in the last few minutes, a corner kick entered a cluster of people and out of nowhere was headed into the net by Dexter B. After a competitive game and some great battling for the ball, the final score was 2-2.

Well done to all three of our U12 rugby squads for their victories against St John’s School last weekend, a brilliant start to their rugby season.
