Hampton and LEH strengthen partnership offering pupils the best of both worlds
Hampton and Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) are delighted to announce the strengthening of their longstanding partnership, building on decades of collaboration between two of the country’s leading independent schools.
Neighbours since the 1930s, Hampton and LEH have provided exceptional single-sex education for generations of boys and girls. The two schools enjoy an excellent relationship with pupils from both schools benefitting from a wide range of shared opportunities, including drama and music productions to educational trips, alongside academic enrichment and co-curricular activities. A shared coach service and boat house on the River Thames have also helped foster strong connections between the two school communities.
From September 2026, we are formalising our partnership, building on shared values, close proximity and a joint commitment to putting our pupils at the heart of every decision. This will unlock exciting new opportunities for both communities. Pupils will enjoy an enhanced programme of shared experiences, including clubs, performances, competitions and leadership initiatives. They will also benefit from greater access to each school’s outstanding facilities, including the swimming pool at LEH and the 3G pitch and climbing wall at Hampton. Pupils from both schools will work together to deliver a joint Festival of Ideas and take advantage of the extensive speaker programmes hosted on each site.
This is not a merger, nor a move towards a co-educational model. Rather, it is a partnership of equals that builds on a successful and well-established relationship to provide an even richer educational experience for the boys and girls of both schools. Importantly, Hampton and LEH will remain separate charitable independent schools, each with its own distinctive identity, strategic vision, site, leadership team, staff and governing board.
The partnership will be underpinned by a formal commitment between the two governing boards, with a joint governance committee established to oversee future developments. From 2028, elements of our timetables will be aligned to maximise opportunities and collaboration between both senior schools, while closer links will also be developed between Hampton Prep and LEH Juniors.
