First Year Leonardo Falcone’s artwork was selected for the Royal Academy (RA) Summer Show and the young artist has now heard that his piece has been chosen for the RA’s annual calendar.

Hampton Art Scholar, Leonardo, spent weeks carving his lino print ‘The Colours of my Notes’ which depicts him playing an acoustic guitar. It was selected from thousands of entries to go on display in the 2021 Young Artists’ Summer Show.

The Royal Academy have now informed Leonardo that his work will be included in their 2023 annual calendar and he says he is delighted:

I am really honoured that my art has been chosen and feel very lucky. I have been carving lino prints for over three years now and really enjoy the process which is both relaxing and very satisfying

Hampton’s Head of Art, Mrs Williams, congratulated Leonardo on his achievement:

It’s a stunning piece of work that has a beautifully balanced composition and use of colour. Leonardo is a worthy winner and I’m sure this will inspire him to create more pieces using lino and other materials as he progresses through the School.
