Hello Maths Wizards!

The Wizard has few more puzzles for you that you can practise this week!  Last week’s answers can now be found on the Maths Wizard Answer tab.

Remember, you can check your answers for this week’s questions on the Maths Wizard Answer tab next week, but use the hints and do your best!

If you’d like even more mathematical challenges to keep you busy you can find more questions under the Further Resources tab.

So if you’re ready, click on my wand for this week’s challenge!

Good Luck!

Here are your challenges for this week:

1) In a quadrilateral, one angle is twice as big as each of the other three angles. What is the size of the largest angle?

Hint: Use the fact that the angles in any quadrilateral add up to 360°. Write an equation for the four angles: x + x + x + 2x = 360

2) A cake is split into 7 small slices and 3 large slices. Each small slice is equal in size, each large slice is equal in size, and each large slice is twice as large as each small slice. What fraction of the whole cake is one large slice?

Hint: Let one small slice be worth 1 part. Then each large slice is worth 2 parts. Work out how many parts the whole cake has: 7+(3×2)

A large slice is 2 parts out of the total number of parts. Write this as a fraction of the whole cake.
