The UCAS & Careers Department is dedicated to ensuring every Hamptonian can make the best, informed choices for their lives beyond Hampton.
Hampton’s careers team meets with every pupil to explore the full range of post-school and career pathways. While the vast majority of Hamptonians progress to universities in the UK and abroad, we also offer expert guidance on alternatives, including Degree Apprenticeships.

Applying to University
The UCAS process begins in the spring term of the Lower Sixth, alongside the Oxbridge process. Boys are introduced to the UCAS Hub and set up an account so they can begin their research well before applications open in May. Pupils also make good use of the Unifrog platform, which offers valuable tools for deciding which course to study and which universities to apply to.
Our Leavers go on to some of the world’s leading universities to study a wide range of subjects. Nearly every Hamptonian gains a place at a Russell Group or equivalent university, and many read their chosen subject at a global top-10 institution, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Oxbridge Applications
Pupils interested in applying to Oxford or Cambridge are given help and advice over college choice and have dedicated time in the autumn term for preparation for any admissions tests which they may have to sit.
International Applications
Every year we have a number of Hamptonians who choose to study abroad, most commonly in the USA and Canada, but also at European universities. Hampton employs specialist external input to support pupils for entrance to American Universities, and a member of the UCAS team specialises in overseas applications.
Our Global Network
Alumni regularly return to Hampton to offer guidance and share their expertise. We firmly believe that ‘once a Hamptonian, always a Hamptonian’ and our Alumni team retain close links with our Alumni network.
These links offer current Hamptonians opportunities for work experience and internships before they proceed to degree courses.
