Our pupils’ happiness and wellbeing are paramount.
We know that a happy, secure and confident child is best placed to flourish in all aspects of school life. We work in close partnership with parents, valuing open, two-way communication to support every pupil.
Our role is to equip our young people with the skills to navigate life’s ups and downs – learning from experiences and developing resilience in an environment of considered wellbeing.
Every boy joining Prep is paired with a Buddy, an older boy from Year 5 who will be a friendly face at break times, help him find his way around and support him as he settles in.
Parent-Teacher consultations take place twice a year for all pupils, with a focus on both pastoral and academic development. We encourage ongoing regular contact between parents and teachers to support each child’s wellbeing.
Our PSHE curriculum, known as Life Skills, helps pupils develop a strong sense of self and community. It promotes values such as respect, tolerance, responsibility and active participation.
We support pupils in navigating the challenges of growing up, encouraging resilience and the understanding that mistakes are part of learning, all within a culture of care and considered wellbeing.
Created by us to broaden our pupils’ horizons, the LION Award develops boys’ abilities to make decisions and think for themselves. We want them to understand their own place in society and how they can have a positive impact upon the world around them.

We offer all our children tasty, nutritious meals made, wherever possible, from locally sourced produce. Alongside breaktime healthy snacks, children sit down for a hot meal every day and thoroughly enjoy the lunches provided.
