Over the half term break, Fourth Year footballers travelled to Spain for a memorable tour to Villarreal, combining competitive fixtures with a unique insight into life at one of Europe’s leading football clubs.

The young footballers took on Villarreal’s youth teams and toured the impressive Estadio de la Cerámica, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at the club’s facilities and footballing culture. A particular highlight was watching Villarreal’s first-team squad train ahead of their Champions League fixture against Liverpool.

The group also enjoyed a talk from Villarreal’s Director of Football, who shared his experiences of the professional game and the club’s approach to player development. The tour provided an excellent opportunity for the Hamptonians to challenge themselves, learn from elite professionals and gain a deeper understanding of the game both on and off the pitch.
