Hampton School welcomed 17 local primary schools this week for the ever-popular Maths Wizard Challenge 2026, an exciting morning of problem-solving, teamwork and mathematical thinking.

Year Five pupils competed across five challenging rounds designed to test a wide range of skills, from logic and reasoning to numerical fluency and lateral thinking. Throughout the competition, teams tackled a series of engaging mathematical puzzles, including the Always, Sometimes, Never round and the cryptic Symbols challenge, before facing a demanding group task in the grand finale.

The pupils impressed with their enthusiasm, perseverance and collaborative approach, demonstrating not only strong mathematical ability but also excellent teamwork under pressure.

After a closely contested competition, congratulations go to Sheen Mount Primary School, who were crowned Maths Wizard Challenge champions for 2026 and lifted the coveted Maths Wizard Trophy. St Luke’s School secured an excellent second-place finish, with Hampton Hill Junior School taking third place.

Hampton School would like to thank all 17 schools for taking part in such a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see so many young mathematicians embracing the challenge, supporting one another and enjoying the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills.
