Reception had a special visit from our Nurse, Mrs Searle, as they became germ detectives for the morning!
The children learnt all about germs and discovered why washing our hands carefully is so important. But how could we tell if we had really washed away all those tiny, invisible germs?
After giving their hands a thorough wash, the children placed them under a special UV light. They were fascinated to see areas glowing brightly – a clever way of showing us where some sneaky germs had been missed!
The children then had another go, making sure to pay extra attention to all the different parts of their hands. It was a wonderful way to see just how important good handwashing really is.
Our germ detectives were rewarded with a sticker at the end for their brilliant detective work!
