Free Places & Bursaries

Our Assistance with Fees programme at the Senior School enables us to offer an exceptional academic and all-round education to talented boys regardless of their financial background.

Hampton is a welcoming and diverse community and life-changing bursaries are at the heart of our ethos. There are currently 90 pupils in the Senior School and Sixth Form on completely free places, a number of which, are funded by our separate but closely linked educational charity, The Fitzwygram Foundation.

In addition to those pupils who hold Free Places, many more boys receive help with fees known as a bursary. Bursaries are means-tested, or needs-based, awards and the amount of help provided varies from a 10% to 100% reduction in the School fees depending on the family’s individual financial circumstances. Free Places include the cost of School fees, uniform and sports kit, coach travel, lunches, co-curricular activities (such as Music lessons) and School trips.

Bursaries and Free Places are available to boys joining the First Year (Year 7), Third Year (Year 9) and the Sixth Form. The number of awards vary from year-to-year and is at the discretion of the Senior School.
