Parents’ Associations

Hampton has two dedicated parent associations, each supporting a different stage of school life.

The Hampton Pre-Prep and Prep Parents’ Association

HPPPA

The HPPPA has a simple purpose: to bring children, parents and staff together through events that widen the sense of School community, to raise funds and to have fun.

Raising money is an important part of what we do for both charity (charities are selected by the pupils) and for buying those little extras (and sometimes quite big extras) that come outside the normal School expenditure. We also have an on-going expenditure programme for ICT equipment and books for the libraries.

We sincerely hope that everyone will get involved in any way they can. Help is always needed setting up functions, running the BBQs, and organising events. It doesn’t matter if you can’t do much; any help is welcome!

If you have any questions and are keen to get in contact please do so via the School secretary, secretary@hamptonprep.org.uk.

  • Tick icon The group raises around £12,000 each year, funding both charitable causes chosen by pupils and projects that enhance school life
  • Tick icon Every parent or guardian automatically becomes a member when their child joins the school
  • Tick icon Volunteers of all kinds are always welcome, whether helping at events, donating prizes or supporting behind the scenes.
  • Tick icon Three meetings are held each term: one a coffee morning (open to all parents), one in the evening (for the committee and all class reps) and one for the committee and teachers.

Main Events

The HPPPA organises welcome evenings for parents of new pupils plus one major social fundraising event each term.

Hampton School Parents' Association

HSPA

The Hampton School Parents’ Association (HSPA), is a great way for parents to get to know each other and offers an important link between families and the School. The Association gives parents an opportunity to socialise as well as raising funds for extra facilities and items for their sons. There are many ways to get involved with the HSPA and we warmly encourage all parents to do so.

The HSPA is run by elected parent members alongside members of staff and the Headmaster, who serves as President. New parent committee members are always welcome.

Each form has one or more form representatives who act as a communication link with the HSPA. This is a purely voluntary role and there are no strict rules for what is required of a rep. Some reps organise social events for the parents and for the boys (separately of course!) and these are a good way for parents to get to know their son’s new friends and classmates and for the boys to have some fun together outside the school environment.

  • Tick icon All parents automatically become members of the HSPA when their son joins Hampton.
  • Tick icon The ‘one off’ joining subscription is included in the first term’s fee and covers any siblings who subsequently join the School.
  • Tick icon We are a registered charity and therefore can claim back £7.50 on everyone’s subscription fee so please complete the Gift Aid form to enable us to do this.
  • Tick icon A considerable sum of money is raised during the academic year, primarily from the main social events and second hand uniform sales.
