Luca, Sixth Former
Entering the Sixth Form marks the pinnacle of any Hamptonian’s School career. Being given more independence, and focusing on the subjects that interest me, has allowed me to make the most out of Sixth Form life.
Academically, I have thoroughly enjoyed my chosen A level subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Further Maths and my AS subject, Spanish. I am applying to study Biochemistry at university, and the more challenging and interesting material that I have encountered in the Sixth Form has made me enthusiastic about pursuing a Biochemical profession. As a Sixth Former the teachers treat you as mature adults, and coupled with smaller classes, this has led to an immensely positive learning environment in which work has become less of a chore and more of a fulfilling experience.
I am incredibly privileged and proud to be a part of the 1st XV, and rugby has been an integral part of my time at Hampton in the Sixth Form. Hampton sport offers fantastic facilities and coaching here is on a level of professionalism that is rarely matched by other schools. Personally, I have found Hampton rugby invaluable in terms of providing a release from the academic side of School and bettering myself as a player and as a person off the pitch.
From a social perspective, the Sixth Form centre has been pivotal. Every break and lunch time sees the common room bustling with activity. There is freshly made food, from pasta to paninis, which always goes down well with a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
It is somewhat sad knowing that I am in my final years at Hampton, however I have so many good memories that I will always look back on my time in the Sixth Form as some of the best years of my life.
