Combined Cadet Force
Welcome to Hampton School CCF – the Combined Cadet Force.
Comprising two sections, the Army and Royal Air Force, we welcome volunteers from Hampton School, Lady Eleanor Holles School and Hampton Academy in years 10, 11, 12 and 13 (4th to U6th Forms).
We parade each Friday after school, working on a varied training syllabus, covering topics such as First Aid, Navigation, Marksmanship, Fieldcraft, Aeronautics, Communications and Leadership. Much of the training is delivered in house by more senior cadets, who use this opportunity to develop their own skills of planning, presentation and leadership.
This in-school training allows us to make the most of our external camps, courses and field days: we offer a leadership and instructional technique course during the October half term, an adventurous training camp at Easter, and each section offers a week-long summer camp, on Army or RAF training bases. Through the year, we also aim to get away for Flying days, live-fire Range days and Field days or overnight exercises. If selected, chosen cadets can also bid for the national cadet leadership courses, run by RAF Cranwell and the Cadet Training Centre, Frimley Park.
Whilst we are well supported by the MOD, we do not push cadets towards a military career, although we have the experience to advise those who are considering this as a possibility in future.
