History Talk by Nick Barrett OH (1988)

History is a story underpinned by research.  In the hands of historians, the interpretation and analysis gives history its value.

Many thanks to Dr Nick Barratt OH (1988) who returned to Hampton today to talk to pupils about his career and the importance of History in modern society.

As well as his role as Director at the Open University and Honorary Associate Professor in Public History at the University of Nottingham, Nick is also President of the Federation of Family History Societies.

He has worked for the National Archives and the University of London Senate House Library.

After leaving Hampton, Nick was awarded a Doctorate in Medieval History at King’s College London.
