A big thank you to the alumni and parents who volunteered their time and expertise, to provide a wide array of careers advice to Hampton and LEH pupils at this year’s Careers Convention.
Fifteen Old Hamptonians returned to the School for the occasion:
Matthew Nolan OH (2014) is an Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Matt works mostly on external audit clients across a wide range of industry groups including the Royal National Theatre, Burberry and Rio Tinto. His other work experience includes Executive Sport Recruitment at Nolan Partners and a Lobbying and Government Relations internship for Smith Group in Washington D.C.
Matthew Horrocks OH (2003) is Head of Business Development at PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Services Consulting Division. He advises and supports the division’s most important propositions, Salesforce implementation and Operational Excellence. Before joining PwC, Matthew spent eight years in the Army in the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cameron Sutherland OH (2014) joined HM Civil Service as a Policy Advisor at the Department for Work and Pensions, where he currently works as part of the Housing Policy Division. Cameron’s other work experience includes work for both the Labour Party and Conservative Party, as well as on a prominent MP’s staff in the House of Commons.
Kareem Raslan OH (2010) is a Corporate Banker at the Royal Bank of Scotland, having joined on the Graduate Scheme in September 2013. Day-to-day, Kareem supports the relationship management of some of the UK’s largest corporate customers, with clients primarily being FTSE 100 companies.
Dr Saj Sivanadarajah OH (2008) studied Dentistry at King’s College London. He is now six months into his DCT1 training post at Poole and Royal Bournemouth Hospitals’ Maxillofacial Department and, at weekends, works in private practice in North London. He has also recently gained the MFDS at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and is looking to enter speciality training in the near future.
Owen Wyatt OH (2003) is Managing Director at The Stylist Group which is owned by DC Thomson, one of the biggest media companies in the UK. Owen is a former sports journalist and broadcaster, working at both Sky Sports and as a Sports Editor for Reuters. Owen’s first piece of journalism was an interview with Anne Widdecombe which appeared in The Lion.
Piers Grundy OH (1988) is Client Director, Morgan Stanley EMEA & UBS UK at IBM and currently runs a division of IBM UK’s Banking & Financial Markets, comprising global investment and wholesale banking clients. His career also permitted him the opportunity to become a professional Master Scuba Diving Instructor for PADI and spend 18 months as a professional pelagic videographer for National Geographic TV (now NatGeo Wild).
Adam Rachlin OH (2010) works in investor relations for Experian, prior to which he did an Audit internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers, joining them full-time to work in Assurance Banking and Capital Markets. Adam has also produced and directed West Side Story for the Turl Street Arts Festival and he enjoys playing Rugby, Tennis, Squash and Cricket.
Sushil Kumar OH (2001) is a criminal defence barrister at 25 Bedford Row. His practice is predominantly organised crime, fraud, and motoring law. In 2019, Sushil was appointed as a Judge (fee-paid) of the First-tier Tribunal in the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber. He also sits on the pupillage committee in chambers.
Harvey Tomes OH (2015) is a Future Trainee Solicitor with Boodle. He is currently studying the Graduate Diploma in Law and will be doing the Legal Practice Course next year before becoming a full Trainee Solicitor in 2020. When Harvey is not studying the law, he can be found shooting, running or singing in a chapel choir.
Will Loughborough OH (2003) is a radiology registrar at University Hospital Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, and is 18 months into a five year specialty training programme in radiology. Will is passionate about global health issues and is involved with the Royal College of Radiologists global health group.
Eui-Sik Suh OH (1993) is a consultant physician in respiratory and ventilation medicine at the Lane Fox Respiratory Unit, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, a regional centre for complex mechanical ventilation, respiratory weaning and post-critical care rehabilitation. He takes an active role teaching medical students, junior doctors and allied health professionals.
Richard Freeman OH (1986) is an Associate Professor of Doctoral Education at UCL’s Institute of Education, where he is Head of the Doctoral School. He has responsibility for over 800 who are students studying for a PhD and other research degrees in the social sciences.
