13+ Pre-test for entry to Hampton School September 2022
Saturday 26 January 2020
Arrival Time & Parking
Candidates should arrive between 8.30am and 8.45am. Please enter the School grounds via the Main Gate, stewards will show you where to park. We are expecting a large number of candidates this year and regret that we may not be able to accommodate all cars on site. If you are unable to park on site please do not park in the road immediately outside the School or at the junction of Nightingale Road, to avoid congestion on this busy bus route.
Your son should wear casual clothes, school uniform is not necessary. Coats will not be required during the morning and we request that boys do not bring mobile phones with them.
Your son should bring writing materials with him (two pens, two pencils, a ruler and rubber), calculators are not allowed in any paper. Please note that the School’s policy is that boys should not wear watches in exams, however, a clock will be clearly displayed in the exam room.
There will be a break between each paper and refreshments will be provided free of charge (your son may bring his own drink and snacks if he prefers).
Collecting your son
Your son will be ready to collect at around 12.35pm. Parking on site may be difficult as many parents will be arriving at the same time. As before, please do not park in the road immediately outside the School or at the junction of Nightingale Road.

Interviews (31 January & 4, 5, 6 February)
We shall write to the parents of all candidates as soon as we can after the written assessments.
Candidates who have performed sufficiently well in the entrance exam will be invited to interview. We expect to interview approximately half of the candidates. Please do not be anxious if you do not hear from us immediately as we have many applications to process.
Please note that we invite more candidates to interview than we have places to offer; an interview is therefore not a guarantee of a place.
The Headmaster and other senior staff will meet parents and boys during the interview visit.
The results of the assessment process will sent by First Class post on Thursday 14 February. We regret that we shall not be able to give results over the telephone.
We look forward to welcoming your son to Hampton on Saturday 26 January and wish all candidates every success in the assessments.
