12+ Year 7 Pre-test for entry to Hampton School, September 2019

Please note that in order to sit the 12+ Pre-test, boys must first be registered with Hampton School. If your son is not already registered please contact the Admissions Office for further information as soon as possible.
The 12+ Pre-test will be held on the morning of Saturday 6 January 2018. We look forward to welcoming your son to the School and wish him success in our entrance assessments.
Please bring your son to the Main School Reception between 8.30am and 8.45am. On arrival, please enter the School ground through the Main Gate. Stewards will be available to assist you with parking and to direct you to the Main Reception.
The examination consists of three papers; Mathematics (55 minutes), Words & Reasoning (40 minutes), English Response & Composition (60 minutes). No specific preparation is required. Your son should bring writing materials with him (a pen, two pencils, ruler and a rubber will be sufficient, calculators are not allowed in any paper). School uniform need not be worn. Refreshments will be provided during the morning but your son may bring his own drink and snack if preferred. Please note that watches should not be worn during the exam; a clock will be clearly displayed in the exam room.
Your son will be ready to leave at around 12.35pm. Further information regarding collection arrangements will be emailed to the parents of all registered candidates towards the end of December.
After the Pre-test
We shall write to the parents of all candidates as soon as we can after the written assessments. Candidates who have performed sufficiently well in the Pre-test will be invited for interview on Friday 12 January.
Results will be sent by first class post on Thursday 18 January. We regret that we are not able to give results over the telephone or by email.
The deadline for the acceptance of a place is midday, Friday 26 January 2018.
