WELCOME TO THE FIRST YEAR BLOG!

It has been lovely to see First Years return to school with such enthusiasm for the next half term. Some made the perilous journey into school with their cell models for Biology which they had been working on over the last few weeks, and the department was impressed with the creative talents on show.

The highlight of the week for most will definitely have been the receipt of their school iPads during their computing lessons, this will give boys an opportunity to add to their learning both in and out of lessons. We would like to take this opportunity to remind boys that they must make sure they follow the School rules regarding device use in School and be sensible in how they use their iPads (only in lessons and / or when given specific permission to do so by a teacher).

MUSIC ASSEMBLY AND NEW BOYS’ CONCERT

This week our First Year boys had the pleasure of listening to a wind quintet and piano trio, and learnt a lot about a whole range of different instruments and what they are capable of! There are many ensembles that run at School and this was a great chance for the boys to learn about the various opportunities available for them with music at Hampton. For more information, look out for the notice board in the Garrick building or ask your music teacher.

Yesterday evening was the annual New Boys’ Concert in which our First Year pupils showcased their fantastic musical talents.
