An update concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
We appreciate that this might be a challenging time for some families within the Hampton community, particularly those with friends and family in the impacted areas. The School is continuing to monitor the situation regarding the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are taking a dynamic risk assessment approach to this complex and changing picture. We are following and monitoring advice from Public Health England (PHE) and the National Health Service (NHS).
Advice for those in the Hampton School community:
We have advised all current pupils, parents and staff to remain abreast of the advice from PHE and to inform the School immediately if any of the following apply:
- If they or anyone in their immediate family have travelled to the UK from any of the category one or two areas listed below in the past 14 days.
- If they have had visitors or any contact with anyone who has arrived in the UK from these areas within the past 14 days
Category one countries/areas: Iran, specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy, Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea)
Category two countries/areas: Cambodia, Hong Kong, Northern Italy (not including specific lockdown areas), Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Republic of Korea (not including Daegu or Cheongdo), Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam
Advice for visitors to Hampton School:
We regret that we are currently unable to welcome visitors to the School if they have travelled to the UK from mainland China within the past 14 days, or have been in direct contact with anyone who has. In addition, and following the update from PHE on 25 February, we are unable to welcome visitors to the School if they have travelled to the UK from any of the category one areas listed above, or been in contact with anyone who has, since 19 February.
We appreciate that this is a complex and rapidly evolving situation and the School will continue to review and update its precautionary measures based on advice from PHE and the NHS. All members of the School community and visitors are being updated on a regular basis as the situation develops.
We hope that we can return to our usual position of warmly welcoming all visitors to Hampton as soon as possible and trust that you understand our position at this time.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
