First Year Blog

It really is hard to believe that this is the final blog for the 2017- 2018 Academic Year! It has been a thoroughly enjoyable last week of term and we have certainly been busy. It was excellent to see the First Year boys conducting themselves so well during their first Founders’ Day service, we hope they enjoyed the experience. It is always a lovely chance for the School to get together and reflect on the strength of our community.

A real highlight of this week was also Lower School Evening. It was a wonderful evening of celebration, as we congratulated a number of First Year boys on some superb academic, sporting and all-round achievements. It was great to see some First Years performing in the choir and James A produced an excellent performance on the piano. A fantastic night was had by all!

We have enjoyed a great morning of swimming in the Inter-Form Swimming Gala. There were some excellent performances and a special congratulations to 1H for winning the gala and for winning this year’s Founders’ Cup. Well done, all!

So as we come to the end of First Year, all that is left to say is well done to all the boys and thank you to the whole First Year team for all their hard work. It has been a fantastic year! We hope you all have a really enjoyable summer break. A number of the boys are going on School trips – we wish them happy travels and look forward to hearing all about them when we return in September.
