Trip time is now in full swing for the First Years and they have had some great excursions already this week. On Tuesday morning, they spent the day at The Orange Tree Theatre where they saw The Merchant of Venice performed by a small ensemble cast. Apparently it was a great performance! Then, on Wednesday, they spent the day at Winchester Science Centre. The boys saw the various exhibits and made connect towers and enjoyed some time in the planetarium.

It has been great to hear that most of the boys have behaved well and been good ambassadors for Hampton on the trips thus far and we hope that this positive attitude can be maintained for the next two weeks. Tuesday sees the boys head off to Marwell Zoo with the Biology Department, which should be really interesting, and there will also be some sporting events with the Richmond Schools’ Athletics Championships coming up on Wednesday. 1B and 1H also have a real treat in store with their forthcoming trip to Berck-sur-mer next week. We hope you all have a fun and interesting trip!

It has been good to hear that a number of First Year boys have continued to take advantage of the co-curricular trips on offer and the Rock Climbing trip to the Peak District at the weekend certainly sounded like a great success! Apparently the boys enjoyed some great activity and adventure and all had a thoroughly good time enjoying the great outdoors!

The last two weeks of term are now upon us and, therefore, the last few weeks for the boys as First Years. Here’s to a happy, sunny run up to the end of the year!
