First Year Blog
What a week it’s been! My Tuesday evening was uplifted by a dazzling performance by a number of First Year boys in the Junior Musical – Oliver! Congratulations to all these boys for their stellar performances: James A, Piers M, Adam S, Milo B and Hal L. Well done too, to Mr Roland and Miss James for all their hard work in producing this great school event!
The Creative Writing Awards deadline looms soon, so can I encourage any boys who wish to enter to make sure that they hand in their work before Wednesday 28 February to the English Department?
On the sporting front Rex B sends me this report:
“This week Hampton boys from all years competed against Harrow School in a competitive swimming fixture. Although the youngest age group was U14 two first year boys made the team. Rex B and Kieran B both competed very well, Kieran was in the relay that managed to finish second and Rex came second in the 100m individual medley. Unfortunately, Harrow came out victorious but we put up a strong triumphant fight”
Rex is also our Tutee of the Week for his all-round commitment to school life and his dedication to co-curricular activities. We have been especially impressed with the enthusiasm with which he has taken on organising his form’s Football team for today’s Inter-Form competition. Details of the results will surely be included in the next First Year blog after Half-Term.
It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the year already. At 4.00pm today, the boys will have completed 7.1% of their time at Hampton, and what better way to celebrate this milestone than visiting a historical, literal, classical or geographical site for PROJECT EXPLORE. Most of all, make sure you have a relaxing time. Enjoy your break boys, and we look forward to seeing you again in a week’s time!
