1st Year Blog

The boys undertook an annual ritual last Friday, with their first Hampton cross country race. The 2.5km course round the playing fields produced a high quality race, with Sam S just having enough pace to win ahead of Ethan F who finished second. The race for Third was a close one with 4 seconds covering the next four positions, which were taken by Felix V, Josh F, Theo W and Aaron M. Many congratulations to these boys, who will represent the School in the upcoming Richmond Borough Championships, and to every boy who ran.

The School’s remembrance assembly this week was a chance to reflect on the consequences of war, and I’m sure many of the boys will reflect on Mr Nicholson, Mr Lawrence and Ms Arnott’s excellent talk. In particular, I’d like to congratulate Harry M, who did an excellent job in his reading.

Congratulations too, to Oliver N for being Tutee of the Week. We have been very impressed by his all-round kind and thoughtful attitude. Well done Oliver.

Speaking of which, Oliver! the musical has finished casting, and is undergoing full rehearsals at the moment. I’m delighted to see a number of First Year boys are involved in this Junior Musical and I look forward to seeing the finished production next term. Ticket details to follow!

Once again, I’m delighted to see so many boys attending clubs, another begins next week, so hopefully a few will find time in their busy schedules to attend History Club.

Good luck to all those boys involved in fixtures this weekend.
